Last week Friday I completed my first year studying Music Business Management at Durham College in Oshawa and wow... what an insane ride it has been. If someone told me a year ago that I would be in Canada studying music I would have laughed. It still baffles me that this is my life right now. Coming from working in the corporate world to becoming a kid again and going to college has been a life changing experience to say the least. I saw snow for the first time, experienced my first blizzard, saw my first hockey game, watched one of my favourite bands live (The Struts), went to my first concert (Queens of the Stone Age), moshed for the first time, joined a band for the first time, went to my first emo night, volunteered at a music festival for the first time, visited Universal Music, performed my songs in a new country, and met some truly interesting people. If there was one word that I would use to describe the last 8 months of my life I would say rollercoaster probably fits the bill pretty well.
I've been overwhelmed, scared, heart broken, exhausted, burnt out, lonely, homesick, stressed, sad, dreadfully depressed, and absolutely wonderfully grateful for the growth I've experienced through the lessons I've learned this year academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Can't wait for the next chapter of my first Canadian Summer! Stay tuned for some exciting updates to come <3
In the meantime, here's a lil picture diary of the my first year in college!
