Ashcoustics
The Full Story
Known for her dynamically enchanting live performances and captivating audiences with her lovable authenticity, Ashcoustics is a Canadian South African solo independent artist inspiring strength in a lonely world. Her songs bleed out stories from her own life experiences as well as the lessons she's learnt from them with the intention to reach out and remind listeners that there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel no matter how dark it gets. Her sound is a unique flavour of indie saturated in emotive poetic lyricism and infused with influences from country, folk, pop, indie, and alternative rock.
Raised in South Africa, Ash started her music career in the beautiful mother city of Cape Town and prolifically performed all over the Western Cape and Gauteng provinces for 3 years. Ready to take her career to the next level she self funded her debut EP "No More" released in April of 2023 along with her debut music video. The release saw impressive traction for an emerging independent artist with multiple local and global press features/reviews, a nomination for best music video by the South African Independent Film Festival, and a live performance of the EP on the South African national broadcasting television show "Expresso Show".

Her most notable appearances include her debut Toronto performance at the Horseshoe Tavern, two showcases on the South African national TV broadcast programme "Expresso Show", and a live showcase on DicovrTV's Tales from the Lounge YouTube series. Other noteworthy live performances at well-respected events and live music venues include DROM Taberna and Linsmore Tavern in Canada and The House of Machines, The Mojo Market, The Barleycorn Music Club, The Armchair Theatre, Bar Acoustics at Fokof Bar, Railways Cafe, Boschendal Wine Estate, Franschoek Uncorked Festival, Eastgate Mall's Piazza with Megan Carlse Productions in South Africa.

After her EP release, Ash left her position as the marketing manager for the renewable energy company, Hubble Lithium, and dedicated herself to music full time. Exploring new horizons she joined her family in Canada and began studying Music Business Management at Durham College just outside Toronto in September of 2023 to gain a deeper insight of the music industry
Committed to making a difference she is a force to be reckoned with and is only just getting started.
